Student Blogging Challenge #1 with Sidebar Badge

Are you participating in the September 2010 Student Blogging Challenge? The first challenge has been posted here:

This challenge may look overwhelming at first because it has 7 parts — but you can pick and choose the parts you want to do. For instance, you’ve probably already done #1 and #2.

The Challenges

Challenge option #3 is to add a badge to your sidebar. Copy the following HTML code and paste it into a Text Widget:
<p align="center"><a href="http://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/"><img alt="" src="http://theedublogger.com/files/2010/08/button_betterbloggers.png" title="Student Blogging Challenge" class="alignnone" width="173" height="173" /></a></p>

#4 is to write a post introducing yourself to the other Student Blogging Challenge participants and tell them why they should read your blog. #5 is the biggest challenge: Visit 10 blogs from the Student Bloggers page.

I’ve left out a lot of details, so go read the challenges for yourself…

Update

If you do option #4, and if your blog theme allows it, make your introduction a sticky post. That means it will stay at the top of your home page, even after you write other new posts.

On your Edit Post page, find Visibility, and then click the word Edit. Check the box to make your post sticky. After the challenge is over, you can go to your Posts page and use Quick Edit to unstick it.

    Hi TeacherMom!

Thanks for visiting our site and for leaving the nice comment. My students and I will be regular visitors to your blog and to your student’s blogs. I have a great group of 6th graders and even though they are just learning the blogging process now, I expect great things from them this year.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share and we are looking forward to meeting your student bloggers!
